Sometimes I feel like we have waaaaay to many toys! Less is more. I find myself constantly sorting and putting toys away. Infants need very few toys. Toddlers and preschoolers just need the basics. Older children will choose what they like. In general, anything big that makes noise and lights up will end up being annoying. Anytime you are tempted to buy a toy that makes a certain noise or song, imagine listening to that song 87 times per day. Because that's how often that little button will be pressed. Try to keep it simple so you can spend less time cleaning and more time enjoying your child.
