I've never been a swing fan. My oldest absolutely hated the swing and would cry anytime he was placed in it. So it was a big waste of money for him. When I had my second, she seemed to like it, but I still couldn't use it because my two year old would push her in it really fast and I was afraid she would get shaken baby syndrome. They run around $100 and can only be used until your baby starts walking. To me it just wasn't worth it.
